연사: Ms. Maree Airlie; Ms. Alison Macaulay (Collins COBUILD)
ABSTRACT
The modern EFL dictionary offers teachers and learners a wealth of information about the English language. Using the pioneering Collins COBUILD range as a starting point, this practical talk discusses the various features of the EFL dictionary and demonstrates how learners of English can use these features to benefit their language learning. The talk will also look at the ways in which data from the Bank of English corpus is used to inform the dictionary-making process.
BIODATA
Maree Airlie
Maree Airlie is Managing Editor of Collins Dictionaries, with responsibility for both COBUILD and bilingual titles. She has many years’ experience in lexicography and editorial work on dictionaries for language learners.
Alison Macaulay
Alison Macaulay is a Project Manager with Collins Dictionaries, working on COBUILD and bilingual titles. Before joining Collins, she worked for many years as a teacher of English as a foreign language, most recently at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
